General Description

The FA86 is an advanced image processor providing many sophisticated image processing functions, including fisheye lens distortion compensation, video format conversion, overlay graphics, SDTV encoding, and privacy masking, that are useful for rear view, front view, and other similar automotive applications.

The integration of lens distortion compensation and steering guidance in one chip eliminates expensive overlay processing that is usually required by DSP solutions. FA86 outputs CVBS video of NTSC or PAL format. This device is programmable through simple two-wire serial interface at startup.
